    Greetings ILA Members:

I teach communication studies courses (including an introductory listening course) at a small community college. In February, our student body association is hosting a conference for student leaders in our region. I was asked to present a workshop on listening.

Though I have done some workshops on intergenerational communication and others on listening, this workshop will involve an exploration of intergenerational listening and leadership.  I have found some resources on leadership and listening and located a couple of articles on aging and listening. I have read Listening Leaders (Steil) and have found a couple of somewhat related articles on the ILA online bibliography (last updated in 2000).

Would any of you have some suggestions on articles that might be more closely related to intergenerational listening and leadership?  Also, I am looking for some activities and would very much value any suggestions.

Thank you in advance for any help you might wish to offer.

    Paula,

Have you checked the resources section of the webpage--there are 15 "swap shop" documents posted there each one containing many, many activities for the classroom/training room.
