1. March is International Listening Awareness Month. Each of us is required to listen in many situations on a daily basis. The phone rings and someone answers. A baby cries and someone responds. But, are we really listening? The International Listening Association promotes the study, development, and teaching of listening. 2. Did you know that March is International Listening Awareness Month? And, are you aware that listening is an acquired skill? Just as we learned to listen, we can learn to be better listeners! Here are some good listening behaviors: 1) concentrate on the message; 2) attend to only one message at a time; and, 3) provide appropriate feedback to the source of the message. 3. In today’s world where people forget how to be civil, it’s time to listen! We need to learn to listen to each other in order to make the world a better place to be. Listening accounts for more than half of the communication activity in the workplace, and plays a significant role in our personal and social lives as well.
