Hotel Information

The Delta Montréal
We’ve got a great hotel (renovated in 2012) located in the heart of downtown
Montréal. It’s practically next door to McGill University and Mount Royal Park, and less than 20 minutes from a host of museums and parks. Visit the hotel's website to learn about their terrific location and services such as their salt water pool, squash courts, the M Bio Spa, and beautiful rooms. Bring the family as children under 18 can stay for no charge. Golfing, ice skating, running/walking paths, and a playground are nearby.

Room rates are a reasonable USD $149/night for a single room (USD $20 each additional adult). This destination is definitely one at which you want to arrive early and stay late; the hotel conveniently offers the discounted room rate three days before and after the convention.

Traveling to the Convention Site

Travel to Montréal
If you want to see more than the inside of an airport, take the path less traveled by. There are a number of options for getting to Montréal.  Check train, bus, and automobile options at go Montréal.

However, it you do choose to drive, you should be aware of special driver restrictions, insurance coverage, and dangerous driving conditions. Did you know radar detectors are illegal in Quebec?

See the US Department of State for specifics.

Travel from the Airport
If you do decide to fly into Montréal be aware that it will take between 30-50 minutes to make it in from the airport to the Delta Montréal Hotel. The
go Montréal  web site outlines taxi, bus, and shuttle transportation options and provides estimated costs as does the Trip Advisor site.  Of note, taxi and limousine rates are fixed rates from the airport to downtown Montreal (approximately $40). Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try the 747 express bus for less than $10. Many taxis will take credit cards, while others will accept US dollars as a courtesy.

According to the hotel contact in Montreal, the airport to use is Trudeau (YUL). They have shuttles from the airport going downtown, here is the link with the information:

http://www.admtl.com/Passengers/AccessAndParking/STMBuses.aspx

Another good option is a taxi. There is a flat rate of $40 plus tips (usually $2 or $3).
